Olam Ghana Ltd. was first established in 1994, Olam’s Ghana operations have since grown, making us one of the leading agro-commodity companies there today. Along with the enviable distinction of being among the large private Licensed Buying Companies (LBC) in Ghana’s Cocoa sector, we are also the country’s leading cashew exporter and one of its largest importers of rice. In 2012, a new state-of-the-art wheat flour mill was opened in Tema, making Olam one of the country’s leading millers. In addition, Olam Ghana operates a Tomato Paste processing and canning facility and a Biscuit manufacturing facility. The Tomato Paste factory has one of the largest installed capacities in West Africa and is one of the few in the world with can-making and canning under one roof. We are now the market leaders in Biscuits in Ghana.

These manufacturing facilities churn out a portfolio of international quality, strong and recognized brands, making us one of the tops branded Packaged Food companies in the region. In addition to branded Wheat Flour, Tomato Paste, Biscuits & confectionary, we also distribute packaged rice.

We employ approximately 680 permanent staff across our head office in Accra and regional offices in Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, Sampa, Ghana is also home to some of our other regional and Africa offices. Through this network, we manage an integrated supply chain that creates value and manages risk for our customers from origination and processing, to logistics, marketing and distribution.

Upholding high standards of behaviour is fundamental to the values and culture of Olam, and it is central to earning and maintaining the trust of our investors, customers, suppliers, employees, communities and other stakeholders.

To strengthen our ethical and compliance standards, we have established the Olam Ethical Business Programme (EBP). This sets out the standards and behaviours firmly expected, which are detailed in the Olam Code of Conduct, as well as our specific policies.

Our Code of Conduct sets out our commitment to “do what is right”, founded on the values and everyday behaviours that build our distinctive culture and setting the standard for what it means to be part of Olam. The Code is available to download in multiple languages.
